Poissonnière is a station on Line 7 of the Paris Metro. The station, which opened in 1910, is located near the junction of Rue La Fayette and Rue du Faubourg Poissonnière. The preceding station is Cadet and the following station is Gare de l’Est, which is one of the largest and oldest railway stations in Paris. The stop is also within walking distance of Gare du Nord, which is another main railway station in Paris. Poissonnière is also connected to the RATP bus lines 26, 32, 43 and 45.
The metro station has three entrances on the Rue La Fayette and features a 1960s-style yellow neon Métro sign. Nearby attractions are the Lycée Lamartine, the Square Montholon, the Square Aristide-Cavaillé-Coll and the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul church.
